Gorman Rally 2017 started out really well for us! Our driver Brian Tullio and co-driver Nicholas Roder were super competitive with our nearest competitor, Andy Cowan, who we all know is extremely fast. The Mazda was handling great until a couple of soccer ball sized rocks in the road took out a wheel and kicked the rear toe out severely. In addition to that one shock blew right through the shock tower and punched a hole in the newly painted hood. Our team valiantly scrambled to fix things right up until sweep left us behind. After a lot of thought our driver made the right decision to call it and not do the fun run over concerns of causing further, more severe, damage to the car since we are running the Prescott Rally in October. This was a hard one for us since this was our first DNF. But that’s rally and we are looking forward to doing better in Prescott.
