Prescott 2017 Recap

Prescott started out great for us! With a newly designed and built rear suspension after the hit in Gorman, we were ready to take on the world. Our performance at Frazier Mountain Rally earlier in the year had qualified us for the NASA National Championship. Day 1 went great: we put down very competitive stage times, the car was doing great, and we were having a blast. On the early stages on day 2, we started running into fueling issues which would cut all power during hard right-hand turns. We later discovered that this was related to low fuel levels (below half-tank) and sloshing away from the pickup. So, we topped off the tank and pushed on.

About half way through the day, we had a massive roll. After rolling, vaulting, and catching air multiple times, we came to a stop off the outside of the road. Our rally was over. Our driver (Brian Tullio) suffered a mild concussion, and our co-driver (Nick Roder) suffered from a glass cut on the head and soreness. Brian was examined by the urgent care and released later that day. The relatively mild injuries after such a massive crash is a testament to the safety equipment in use by the racers.

That is the unfortunate end to our season. The car looks to be salvageable, but with the amount of work it will need we will likely be out for most of 2018. Keep an eye on this site for news regarding the rebuild, plans for the future, and more.
